Ivory shibayama style Jar and Cover.

Ivory mounted in enamelled silver (chrysanthemum design) to form a base, handles, and a silver filigree lid. The ivory is decorated in fine Shibyama work depicting a phoenix, with flowers, and prunus on one side. A pair of quail watched by a bird, on a tree laden with blossom, above flowering chrysanthemum plants.
