A small Kogo of square form, with Somada style decoration all over. The cover is decorated with a Bugaku drum, and a blossoming cherry tree, in sheet gold. This drum is part of the Sarugaku, an early dance of military (or religious character) which preceded the No Gaku or the No dance. The sides are decorated with alternate panels of formal chequered designs. The edge of the box is rimmed with silver.
